Meet the Board: Kimberly Long, VP of Operations and Secretary

Tell us a little about yourself:

Hello LA! My name is Kimberly Long and I’m really excited to join the AMA Los Angeles executive board this year!

I have worked in integrated marketing communications for the past 15+ years across many platforms – digital, creative, product design & package development, visual merchandising and print solutions.  My experience working with top Fortune 500 to mid-size companies is vast, as I have been on both the client and vendor side.  My diverse professional background has given me great insight into the dynamic and ever changing world of marketing and will be a great asset to the chapter’s continued growth!

When I’m not working or at an AMA event, you can catch me out for a run, spending time with my dog, practicing yoga, traveling or checking out the latest restaurant in town.

What is your position on the board?

I am the VP of Operations & Secretary – the purpose of my dual role is to oversee each of our board members so they have the support needed to successfully implement all of our great strategy ideas & programming events for the chapter.  I also keep the administrative side of our chapter in check so we can continue to bring our members the experience they hope to receive when joining AMA Los Angeles.

Why did you join AMA Los Angeles?

Originally from the Midwest, I joined the chapter when I moved to LA a couple years ago to expand both my professional and social network.  I don’t regret it!  Not only do I continue to make many great work connections, I’ve also been lucky to meet some amazing friends along the way at our mixers and educational events.

If there is one thing that you could recommend to new/potential members of AMA Los Angeles, what would you say to check out?

I would recommend following all of our social media communication to stay on top of all the exciting events in store this year! I also highly encourage you to introduce yourself to the board members at any of our events so we can help you maximize your AMA Los Angeles experience – whether you’re looking for networking or volunteer opportunities.

Feel free to connect with me!
