Collegiate Relations Team

This team is responsible for engaging and providing a valuable experience for college students with the mission of our association always in mind.

Director of Mentorship

The Director of Mentorship is responsible for building, nurturing, and leading the chapter’s mentorship program. The mentorship program shall be purposed to develop lasting professional relationships, improve AMA networking opportunities and provide invaluable career development for both mentees and mentors. Once the relationship is established, it may continue indefinitely, if both sides agree to it.

Required

  • Time commitment: 3 – 5 hours per week
  • Report to: VP of Collegiate Relations

Responsibilities

  • Build the framework of the program using the chapter’s resources and work cross functionally with the marketing team for promotion
  • Nurture the program through monitoring of mentors and mentees beginning with incoming applications through coordination with necessary players (e.g. chapter teams, venues, and vendors).
  • Create and fulfill program for at least a 6 month duration.
  • Report on program analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Utilize networking to recruit college-level and young professionals to the program as well as seasoned professionals
  • Build and manage a committee of volunteers.
  • Responsibilities common to all Officers and Directors.
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the President and within the job’s time commitment.

Director of Career Development

The Director of Career Development is responsible for building and hosting a fall and spring career fair for collegiate students. The career fair shall be hosted by the chapter and purposed as a recruitment tool for local marketing agencies and companies to showcase their company via venue booths and for college + young professional talent to learn about and meet the agencies/companies.

Required

  • Time commitment: 3 – 5 hours per week
  • Report to: VP of Collegiate Relations

Responsibilities

  • Build the framework of the career fair using the chapter’s resources and work cross functionally with the marketing team for promotion and sponsorship team for funding.
  • Outreach and correspondence with local marketing agencies and companies to participate in the career fair
  • Utilize the chapter’s and your personal network to promote college-level and young professionals to the career fair as well as seasoned professionals
  • Report on career fair progress at minimum once a month
  • Launch two career fairs: One for a 2-day period in between September and October and one between March 2020 and May 2020
  • Report on career fair progress at minimum once a month
  • Build and manage a committee of volunteers, as needed.
  • Responsibilities common to all Officers and Directors.
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the VP of Collegiate Relations and within the job’s time commitment.

Collegiate Ambassador (2 Openings)

The Collegiate Ambassador is a student AMA member who is responsible for advocating on behalf of AMA Los Angeles. The Ambassador attends at least 2 chapter events per Quarter and liaisons between his/her campus students and the AMA Los Angeles Board. Ambassadors promote the chapter’s events, open volunteer opportunities, the numerous programs that are offered, and benefits of membership.

Required

  • Time commitment: 1 – 3 hours per week
  • Report to: VP of Collegiate Relations

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between the campus students and the AMA Los Angeles Board
  • Attend at least 2 chapter events per Quarter
  • Promote AMA Los Angeles events, volunteer opportunities, programs, and the benefits of membership
  • Correspond between the VP of Collegiate Relations and the students on campus
  • Work cross-functionally with the marketing team to develop outreach communication to the college campus
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the VP of Collegiate Relations and within the job’s time commitment.

Director of Membership Experience

  • This person works directly under the VP of Membership on reviewing the stats of membership renewals and working with the rest of the Membership and Marketing team to ensure we are communicating our membership benefits clearly. They will oversee any retention campaigns and be an advocate to the Programming team to make sure we are providing value to our members in all aspects of our member’s careers. This is also a great transition role into a VP position on the Marketing or Membership team the following year. (Retention focus)

Career Development Coordinator

This person works directly under the Director of Career Development. You will work in tandem to ensure our mission is being upheld including activities such as our job board and any job fair event. Someone on track or in a recruiting role might fit well in this role. This is also a great transition role into a Manager or Director position on the Events or Membership team the following year.
