Grace Donoso
Position: Programming Coordinator
Bio:

My name is Grace Donoso. I summoned up the courage to move to Los Angeles from South America all by myself for the greatest adventure of my life. I have a degree in Marketing and Advertising, and my first job was at the USA Consulate in Ecuador, coordinating business mission trips between the two countries. Passionate about languages, travel and cultural diversity, my move to Los Angeles was a natural fit. Here, I developed a career in Project Management leading creative projects from start to finish in corporations like Tribune Media and DIRECTV.

In my free time, I love to go hiking and binging on Netflix. I also love to write, and have started to blog of just about everything learned throughout my life, from how to decorate small spaces to stress reduction management. I’m grateful for having Los Angeles as my hometown for the last 20 years. Moving to a foreign country with a new language was intimidating and scary at first, but it has allowed me to grow as an individual and re-wire my brain, making it more resilient to change and challenges. This skill comes in handy at work, since Creative Project Management is not a linear process; projects can face a sudden shift in direction, or added deliverables with a shorter timeline, resource deprivation, etc. Project managers are sense-makers and critical thinker, and as the glue that holds the team together, a positive outlook with the ability to remain calm in all situations is essential.

I am currently freelancing for the Video Localization team at Konami Digital Entertainment, ensuring quality translations for the launch of video games across different countries. I am also a proud volunteer at the American Marketing Association – Los Angeles Chapter, helping register attendees at educational and networking events. I value every minute spent here. AMA is a great pathway to stay current with my ongoing professional development while expanding my network and forming relationships with marketing oriented leaders.
