Programming Team

This team is responsible for the planning, logistics, and execution of our events. This team is overseen by several VPs depending on the event track you are supporting: Speaker Track, Workshop Track, Networking Track, Executive Track, or Award Show.

Educational Programming Team

VP of Educational Programming

The VP of Educational Programming is responsible for developing and implementing the Chapter’s overall monthly educational program strategy as well as managing and leading a committee to implement these events. The VP of Educational Programming must be familiar with event planning, possess excellent organizational skills and perform all the duties specified by the Constitution and Bylaws or those approved by the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Time commitment: 5 – 8 hours per week
  • Report to: Head of Programming
  • Attend at least 75% of Team’s Events

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support all educational programming activities of the organization including: determine programming needs of membership; speaker acquisition; event logistics; professional development; maintain a six-month rolling schedule; ensure consistent monthly programming throughout Board year; and prepare details for Marketing Team to market the program.
  • Identify and prepare a volunteer to fill this role the following year.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and management of your team via recruitment, retention, and team engagement
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the Head of Programming and within the job’s time commitment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in marketing or related experience.
  • Experience planning and implementing high-profile events.
  • Successful track record of building and leading a team.
  • Ability to coordinate the diverse efforts of the organization for successful programming. 

Event Manager

The Event Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the Chapter’s Educational and Social Programming. The Event Manager should be familiar with event planning, possess excellent organizational skills, and be comfortable with speaker outreach and correspondence.

Requirements

  • Time commitment: 3 – 5 hours per week
  • Report to: Head of Programming
  • Attend at least 75% of Team’s Events

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chapter’s Educational and Social Programming with lead generation, outreach, and correspondence with speakers, venues, and any other relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Educational Programming and/or VP of Social Programming, depending on Chapter priorities
  • Utilize LinkedIn Premium, Email Communication, and Google Sheets to perform tasks
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the Head of Programming and within the job’s time commitment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in marketing or related experience.
  • A firm understanding of the elements of event production

Social Programming Team

Event Manager

The Event Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the Chapter’s Educational and Social Programming. The Event Manager should be familiar with event planning, possess excellent organizational skills, and be comfortable with speaker outreach and correspondence.

  • Report to: Head of Programming

Special Events Team

Event Director, Special Events

The Event Director, Special Events is responsible for developing and implementing the Chapter’s overall special events strategy as well as managing and leading a committee to implement these events. The Event Director, Special Events must be familiar with event planning, possess excellent organizational skills and perform all the duties specified by the Constitution and Bylaws or those approved by the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Time commitment: 5 – 8 hours per week
  • Report to: Head of Programming
  • Attend at least 75% of Team’s Events

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support all executive events programming activities of the organization including: determine programming needs of membership; speaker acquisition; event logistics; professional development; work with VP of Partnerships to secure executive events sponsorships; and prepare details for Communications Chair to market program.
  • Build and manage committee of volunteers.
  • Identify and prepare a programming volunteer to fill this role the following year.
  • Responsibilities common to all Officers and Directors.
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the Head of Programming and within the job’s time commitment.

Event Manager, Special Events

The Event Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the Chapter’s Special Events Programming. The Event Manager should be familiar with event planning, possess excellent organizational skills, and be comfortable with speaker outreach and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chapter’s Special Events Programming with lead generation, outreach, and correspondence with speakers, venues, and any other relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with the Event Director of Special Events to execute on initiatives.
  • Utilize LinkedIn Premium, Email Communication, and Google Sheets to perform tasks.
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the Event Director and within the job’s time commitment.

Event Coordinator, Social Programming

The Event Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the Chapter’s Social Programming. The Event Coordinator should be familiar with event planning, logistics, and production, and possess excellent organizational and time management skills..

Requirements

  • Time commitment: 1 – 3 hours per week + the duration of any social event
  • Report to: Head of Programming
  • Attend at least 75% of Team’s Events

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chapter’s Social Programming with lead generation, outreach, and correspondence with speakers, venues, and any other relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Social Programming to make sure events run smoothly from planning phase to on-site event production
  • Assist VP of Social Programming in working with other teams/positions that are relevant to the planning, promoting, and analyzing the results of social events (i.e. Sponsorship, Communications, and Data/Insights teams)
  • Utilize LinkedIn Premium, Email Communication, and Google Sheets to perform tasks
  • Contribute any other reasonable responsibility, under the direction of the Head of Programming and within the job’s time commitment.
  • Responsibilities common to all Board Members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in marketing or related experience
  • Past experience in working events (i.e. set-up, clean-up, A/V technology, check-in/registration, etc.)
  • Passion for event planning and production
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and willing to be of help to event attendees
